ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif hosted a dinner on Sunday night for parliamentarians belonging to the government and its coalition partners, as part of efforts to build consensus on the proposed 27th Constitutional Amendment Bill.
The gathering aimed to address concerns and ensure a unified position among coalition allies before the amendment is formally presented in the Senate for approval.
Welcoming the participants, the Prime Minister thanked the senators and coalition partners for their cooperation in the legislative process, describing the amendment as a “collective effort to strengthen the federation, promote inter-provincial harmony, and improve governance.”
He also expressed gratitude to President Asif Ali Zardari and the heads of all allied parties for their continued support, emphasizing that “all coalition partners have demonstrated national unity and a shared vision for the country’s stability.”
“The milestones achieved during this government are the result of mutual cooperation between the government and its coalition partners,” the Prime Minister noted. “Pakistan’s diplomatic successes and enhanced global image reflect the harmony and solidarity among all allied parties.”
Highlighting the government’s achievements, Shehbaz Sharif said that through joint efforts, Pakistan had gained a stronger position internationally, while the country’s economic indicators were showing gradual improvement.
“With the grace of Almighty Allah, political and economic stability has steered the country back in the right direction,” he said, urging all stakeholders to “continue working together for Pakistan’s progress, prosperity, and democratic strength.”
