ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Bar Council (PBC) disapproved the increase of court fee under Supreme Court Rules, 2025.
The PBC Executive Committee meeting was held on Saturday in Council’s office at Islamabad under the chairmanship of Muhammad Yaseen Azad, which apart from transacting other business of agenda passed the various resolutions.
“We disapprove recent amendments to increase/ enhance court fee, which is violation of fundamental right of access to justice as enshrined under Article 37(d) of the Constitution.”
The Executive Committee regretted that the Supreme Court of Pakistan did not consult or take on board the PBC regarding increase in court fees. It demanded to immediately withdraw the said amendments in respect of increase/ enhancement of court fee which disproportionately affects the poor segments of the society to have access to justice.
The meeting also decided to hold “All Parties Conference” on 27th September, 2025 in Islamabad, to be participated by the leaders of political parties and representatives of the Bar Councils.
