LAHORE: The Lahore High Court on Tuesday rejected a report of the Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Lahore pertaining to the arrest of PTI worker Khadija Shah despite bail in two cases and directed him to submit a detailed report by October 27.

The court was hearing contempt of court petition, filed against the arrest of Khadija Shah in another case despite bail granted her in two cases.

Earlier, a law officer informed the court that Khadija Shah was arrested in a case of torching police vehicles near Rahat Bakery Chowk, Cantonment in light of the statements of the arrested suspects. He said all was being done strictly in accordance with the law.

He also submitted a report of CCPO Lahore and court after going through the report expressed its dissatisfaction over the report.

The counsel of Khadija Shah said the IGP had told a division bench that only two cases were registered against the petitioner.

He said the petitioner was behind the bars for six months but the police made her arrest in the third case.

The counsel asked the court to discharge Khadija Shah in the case and release her immediately.
