U.S. welcomes commitments to de-escalate violence among Israelis, Palestinians

WASHINGTON: The United States welcomes commitments made Sunday by Israel and the Palestinian Authority to de-escalate and prevent further violence, WhiteHouse national security adviser Jake Sullivan said in a statement.

"We recognize that this meeting was a starting point and that there is much work to do over the coming weeks and months to build a stable and prosperous future for Israelis and Palestinians alike," Sullivan said of the Aqaba meeting. "Implementation will be critical."
