KARACHI: The Lasbela Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) has appreciated the efforts of the National Highway Authority for building alternative roads that may be used by light and heavy vehicles for commuting between Karachi and Hub, and beyond.

At an urgent meeting to review the current logistic situation, the executive committee acknowledges the dedication and spirit of the NHA team to resolve the issues for the restoration of the alternate roads on an urgent basis under the guidance of Secretary Communication, Khurram Agha. Shahid Inamullah, member, NHA Balochistan, and Kashif Sheikh Director NHA, Quetta was at the sites most of the time to ensure the quality and speed of the work.

The Ex-com of LCCI has acknowledged the exceptional efforts of the Deputy Commissioner Murad Khan Kansi, Assistant Commissioner Hub Samiullah, and their team for struggling against all the odds due to the disaster and helping out the people in providing relief and minimizing the obstacles in traffic flow.

The Executive Committee has requested the Chief Secretary Balochistan and NHA to complete the alternate temporary excess to Hub which is being constructed on the western side of the collapsed bridge.

The Ex-com further drew the attention of the provincial government to reinforce the bridge on the bypass and repair the bypass road on SOS basis so that the safety of the people and vehicles using the Hub bypass is not compromised and industrial logistics could return to normal.

LCCI Ex-com urged on the construction of SaKran road on international standards on a permanent basis as an alternate road for Hub. Adequate security arrangements and patrolling on this road should also be started. It is critical to keep the Sakran Road in useable condition as the only excess from Karachi till the construction of the Bridge between Karachi and Hub is completed on N-25 and Hub bypass is opened for all light and heavy traffic.
