Smog-related situation: LHC directs CM to convene meeting of EPC

LAHORE: The Lahore High Court on Tuesday directed the Chief Minister (CM) Punjab to convene a meeting of the Environmental Protection Council (EPC) within current week to discuss the smog-related situation in the metropolis and adjoining areas and asked the secretary to CM to submit the report till November 18.

The court in its order said, “It is all utmost importance that the meeting of the Council be convened at the earliest by the chief minister to deliberate upon the calamity of smog and to issue direction for effectively dealing with the situation on urgent basis”.
