LAHORE: Pakistan achieved the honor of becoming the leader in manpower export in the region, surpassing major players, India and Bangladesh in 2020. Over 224,000 Pakistanis went overseas for working in both white and blue-collared roles. These figures were achieved despite the challenges of the ongoing global pandemic.

Descon Engineering Limited has played a major role in Pakistan achieving this feat, by being the highest manpower exporting entity, not only in 2020, but also over the previous three years, as per the data shared by the Bureau of Emigration and Overseas Employment (OEP). With a total of 4,582 promoters nation-wide, Descon has played a vital role in providing employment to countless workers.

Apart from providing local employment opportunities, Descon is also responsible for over 13,000workers from Pakistan between 2018 & 2021 (ongoing).

These employees have been placed across the various ventures Descon is a part of around the world. Descon currently holds business interests in Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman, Iraq and South Africa, making its mark and flying Pakistan’s flag high.

Descon also holds the distinction of exporting most manpower for their own ventures, as compared to Manpower services companies.

This is a further testament to the progress of Descon over the years and its commitment to help improve Pakistan’s image around the globe and uplifting the socio-economic standing of its employees and their families.—PR
