KARACHI: On Monday, after market close, Pakistan Rupee generally lost value in open and interbank markets. It fell against USD in both interbank and open markets and against Euro in open market.
INTER-BANK MARKET RATES: RATES: In the interbank market, Pakistan Rupee lost 20 paisas for buying and 30 paisas for selling against USD over last Thursday's rates closing at 168.10 and 168.30 respectively.
OPEN MARKET RATES: In the open market, PKR lost 10 paisas for both buying and selling against USD over last Thursday's rates closing at 168.20 and 168.50 respectively.
Against Euro, PKR lost 50 paisas for both buying and selling closing at 198 and 199.50 respectively.
Against UAE Dirham, PKR gained 5 paisas for both buying and selling closing at 45.55 and 45.75 respectively.
Against Saudi Riyal, PKR remained unchanged with respect to last Thursday's rates closing at 44.40 and 44.60 respectively.

RUPEE IN LAHORE: The Pak rupee depreciated its worth versus major currencies including the greenback and the British pound in the local currency market on Monday.
According to currency dealers, the short supply phenomenon of the greenback prevailed throughout the trading session which helped its appreciation for buying and selling at Rs 168.00 and Rs 169.00 against the previous closing rates of Rs 167.90 and Rs 168.50 respectively.
Likewise, the local currency also followed suit in relation to the pound sterling that was bought and sold at Rs 219.00 and Rs 220.50 against Thursday's closing trend of Rs 218.50 and Rs 219.60 respectively, they added.
RUPEE IN ISLAMABAD AND RAWALPINDI: The rupee recovered 20 paisas against the dollar at the open currency markets of Islamabad and Rawalpindi here on Monday.
The dollar opened at Rs168.30 (buying) and Rs 168.40 (selling) against last rate of Rs168.50 (buying) and Rs 168.60 (selling).
It closed at Rs168.30 (buying) and Rs 168.40 (selling).
The buying and selling rates of one tola of gold was Rs122,300 (selling) and Rs122,000 (buying) in the local Sarafa (gold) markets of twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
