KARACHI: On Thursday at Pakistan Mercantile Exchange Limited, PMEX Commodity Index closed at 4,477. The traded value of metals, energy and COTS/FX was recorded at PKR 13.960 billion and the number of lots traded was 14,975.
Major business was contributed by gold amounting to PKR 9.895 billion, followed by NSDQ 100 PKR 1,340 billion, silver PKR 1.181 billion, currencies through COTS PKR 636.034 million, DJ PKR 364.134 million, natural gas PKR 152.158 million, platinum PKR 144.725 million, crude oil PKR 143.568 million, SP500 PKR 53.947 million and copper PKR 49.467 million. In agriculture commodities, 10 lots of wheat amounting to PKR 45.389 million and 5 lots of cotton amounting to PKR 2.592 million were traded.
