As Pakistan cruised to semifinals of ICC Under 19 World Cup, new bowling sensation Shaheen Shah Afridi has said that the team is strong and will try to win the tournament.

In an interview following quarterfinal victory against South Africa, the pacer said, “First I would like to congratulate Pakistan and team for the victory. We have a strong bowling unit, we are performing will and we will try to win semifinal and final.”

Replying to a question about Pakistan’s strategy for today’s game Afridi said, “Condition were in our favour. We planned to bowl length to length. We have in mind that they would try to post a big total but we hit the length and restricted them.”

Speaking about the upcoming semifinals, he said, “We have a good unit will try to win both semifinal and final.”

Pakistan qualified on Wednesday for the semifinals of the tournament, after defeating South Africa by three wickets.
