Shipping activity at Port Qasim

kptKARACHI: Two ships C.V Maersk and M.T Bow Jubail carrying containers and phosphoric acid were allotted berths at Qasim International Container Terminal and Engro Vopak Terminal respectively on December 18.

Berth occupancy was remained at 38% at the Port on Sunday where a total of six ships namely C.V Maersk Missouri, M.V Afamia, MV Paiute, M.T Chem Pegasus, M.T Bow Jubail and M.T AL- Salam-II are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, rice, canola seeds, palm oil, phosphoric acid and  diesel oil respectively during last 24 hours.

Cargo throughput during last 24 hours stood at 83,194 tonnes comprising 67,196 tonnes imports and 15,998 tonnes exports inclusive containerized cargo carried in 1,327 containers (TUES) was handled at the Port.

Two ship C.V Maersk Missouri and M.T AL-Salam-II sailed out to sea Monday morning, while another ship M.T Chem Pegasus is expected to sail on same day.

Outer anchorage ships carrying 70,000 tonnes diesel oil and 11,00 palm oil are expected to take berths at Fotco Terminal and Liquid Terminal respectively on December 19 and two container ships Maersk Kolkata and Hnajin Elizabeth are due to arrive at Port Qasim on 20 December.
