Message from Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs & Gilgit-Baltistan

The Kashmiris of the Occupied Kashmir over a period of six decades have been subjected to worst kind of human rights violation and denial of their fundamental rights. The Kashmiris have been denied there right to self-determination, despite the UN Security Council Resolutions on the subject.
1 The indigenous movement in Indian Occupied Kashmir has gained a new momentum and urgency. The Kashmiris are unanimous in their demand for self-determination. This sentiment and its firm determination is being reflected in the peaceful protests of the youth, women and all segments of civil society.
2 The Government and people of Pakistan fully extend their unflinching support on this day of solidarity with our Kashmiris brethren in continuous struggle for their right of self-determination. We recognise the sacrifices of those Kashmiris who were martyred in their struggle for self-determination and call for holding plebiscite in Jammu and Kashmir in accordance with the resolutions of the UN Security Council.
3 I, on behalf of Government and people of Pakistan, urge the International Community to take cognisance of the atrocities being inflicted upon innocent men, women and children by the remaining forces in the occupied Kashmir. We, once again reiterate our expectation on the international observers, the international print and electronic media, and the International Community to help resolve the issue paving way for holding plebiscite in Kashmir enabling the Kashmiris to live with dignity and honour.
