SOFIA: Bulgarian producer prices increased 0.4 npercent on a monthly basis in August after a 2.4 percent increase in the previous month, statistics office data showed on Friday.
Prices were up 5.9 percent on an annual basis in August, mainly due to an increase in mining industry producer prices and prices for gas, electricity and heating, the statistics office said.
Mining industry producer prices rose 3.2 percent in August on a monthly basis, processing industry prices were up 0.5 percent on the month and prices for gas, electricity and heating were unchanged, data showed.
The broader index of producer prices, including prices on the local market and for Bulgarian products sold internationally, rose 0.7 percent in August from the previous month and registered a 5.8 percent increase year-on-year.
