PESHAWAR: Speaker of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Assembly Kiramatullah Khan on Sunday lay foundation-stone of a gas supply scheme, which on completion will benefit over 5,000 people of Ghari Mustajab.
Addressing a public meeting on the occasion, the Speaker said that the natural gas was an important requirement of the modern era. Kiramatullah Khan said that President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gillani have approved Rs 1 billion for laying a gas pipeline on Warsak Road. He said that before the completion of the tenure of present government gas would be supplied to every house of the area.
He said that he had spread a network of development schemes in his constituency. He said a huge fund of Rs.1 billion for the expansion of Warsak Road remained unutilized for last three years due to encroachments, which were now being removed.
`Regarding the shortage of electricity, he said that it could not be generated through merely holding rallies and processions, saying the reason behind the energy crisis was the not construction of any dam during last 40 years.
The public meeting was also addressed by Johar Ali, Qari Saeed and others.
