Growers facing loss of wheat crop due to flood waters

wheat-pakistanKHADRO: Growers are unable to sow wheat crop as stagnant flood waters has not yet been drained out from agricultural lands.

According to details, irrigation and drainage officials have not yet started plugging of canal breaches and de-silting of saline ditches even after one month and stagnant rain and flood waters are still present in the fields.

The affected growers are facing loss of anticipated wheat crop after their previous cotton crop was washed away.
