ISLAMABAD: Pakistans Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has expressed his annoyance over provocative statements hurled by Indian officials saying Indias dream of breaking Pakistan into pieces would never succeed.
Bharatiya Janata Party's (the ruling party in India) dream of splitting Pakistan is nothing but an empty threat, Nisar said on Monday, adding that the statement by his Indian counterpart was just a shallow claim.
The interior minister slammed the neighboring country for ruthlessly shedding blood of innocent Kashmiris in the Occupied Valley. "Oppressing masses in India is part of the government's policy," he added.
He went on to accuse New Delhi of openly interfering in Balochistan and other parts of Pakistan, which it has also been admitting. "We wish peace in the region, however, will not accept Indian hegemony," he asserted.
The statement comes the same day when Indian Home Minister Rajnath Singh threatened to break Pakistan into 10 pieces in a statement that appears to substantiate Islamabads fears of Delhis meddling in its internal matters.
A neighbouring country of ours again and again encourages terrorism and terrorist activities to harm India, The Times of India quoted Rajnath Singh as telling a gathering.
Pakistan has been divided into two countries. If it does not stop cross-border terrorism, it will soon be in 10 pieces, he said. Our government will never let the nation to bow down its head before anyone. We cannot change our neighbours.
Tensions between Islamabad and Delhi have been at an all-time high ever since Indian security forces killed popular Kashmir separatist leader Burhan Wani in July this year.
