Maximum facilities be provided to trade and industry: LCCI

LAHORE: The Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) President Irfan Qaiser Sheikh has said that the LCCI would continue its efforts for the solution of the problems being faced by paper merchants, as their role for the promotion education in the country is par excellence.

While speaking at the 18th Annual General Meeting of All Pakistan Paper Merchants Association (APPMA), here on Tuesday, the LCCI President said the government should provide maximum facilities to the trade and industry as economic stability would remain a dream in the absence of an enabling business doing atmosphere. He said that the Lahore Chamber would not accept any business-related policy or SRO that would be designed or implemented without due consultation of stakeholders. He also criticised the government for not inviting the business community in the All Parties Conference.

While congratulating the newly elected office-bearers of the APPMA, Irfan Qaiser Sheikh urged them to forward their proposals to the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry so that the same could be taken up with concerned government circles. He said that Citizen Police Liaison Committee (CPLC) would soon be formed to make the law & order situation better.

Speaking on the occasion, newly elected APPMA President Khamis Saeed Butt said that unprecedented prolonged loadshedding, worsening law & order situation and bureaucratic bottlenecks have ruined the economic activities. He made it clear that the All Pakistan Papers Merchants Association is the true representative of the paper traders and there is no other organisation as published in a part of press.

On the occasion, Annual Report of APPMA was also presented besides giving details about the APPMA performance during the outgoing year.
