Shipping activity at Port Qasim

KARACHI: Shipping activity remained active at the Port where three ships scheduled to load-offload containers were allotted berths at Qasim International Container Terminal on Thursday, September 22.

Meanwhile another containers ship also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the same day.

Berth occupancy was maintained at the Port at 54 percent on Thursday where a total of seven ships namely C.V Maersk Davenport, C.V OOCL San Francisco, C.V Nora Maersk, M.V Orient-III, M.V Vina Line Sky, M.T Bunga Alpinia and M.T Kassos were occupied at PQA berths to load/offload containers, cement, palm oil and furnace oil respectively during last 24 hours.

Cargo throughput during last 24 hours stood at 83,002 tonnes, comprising 59,991 tonnes import cargo and 23,0115 tonnes export cargo Inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 2,697 containers (Boxes) was handled at the Port.

Five ships container vessel Maersk Davenport, OOCL San Francisco and Nora Maersk, Edible oil carrier Bunga Alpinia and Oil tanker Kassos sailed out to sea on Friday morning.

Oil tanker Analipsi lady carrying 49,600 tonnes diesel oil is expected to take berth at FOTCO Oil Terminal on Friday, September 23.

Container ship MSC Anafi is due to arrive at Port Qasim on same day, while two more container ships CMA CGM Puget and Elbe Trader are due arrive on Saturday, September 24.
