LONDON: Europe's main stock markets edged higher in opening deals on Friday, as caution crept in ahead of this afternoon's vital US non-farm payrolls data.
London's benchmark FTSE 100 index of major blue-chip companies rose more than 0.4 percent to 6,155.99 points compared with Thursday's closing level.
In the eurozone, Frankfurt's DAX 30 index won 0.5 percent to 9,800.86 points and the Paris CAC 40 added nearly 0.5 percent to open at 4,437.82.
