 KARACHI: Shipping activity remained active at the Port Qasim where two ships carrying containers were allotted berth at QICT Terminals on Monday, August 8. Meanwhile four more ship scheduled to load/offload containers and furnace oil also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours.

Berth occupancy was maintained at 55 percent at the Port on Monday where a total of seven ships namely ACX Lily, Alaska II, Alex-I, Hai Yu, New Sun and Fair Spirit are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, urea, corn and furnace oil respectively during last 24 hours.

Cargo handling operation were carried out smoothly at the Port where a cargo volume of 69,488 tonnes, comprising 50,268 tonnes imports and 9,220 tonnes exports inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 402 containers (TEUs) was handled at the Port during last 24 hours.

ACX Lily sailed out to sea on Tuesday morning while MV. Fair spirit will have to sail today later.

Four ships C.V Sealand Michigan, C.V Hanjin Port Land, M.V Pearls of Jubal Ali and M.T Four Bay carrying containers, canola seed and furnace oil are expected to take berths at QICT, FAP and FOTCO respectively on August 9.
