NEW YORK: The euro rallied to a session high against the dollar on Tuesday amid rising risk tolerance on the expectation that Greece's parliament will approve tough austerity steps needed to stave off a default.
The euro was last at $1.4311, up 0.2 percent on the day, after climbing as high as $1.4330, according to Reuters data.
Positive U.S. home prices data and European Central Bank President Jean-Cluade Trichet's reiteration that policymakers were in strong vigilance mode when tackling inflation added to the rise in risk tolerance.
