ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Railways did not close any of its sections during the last one year as it was following the policy of current government to provide maximum facilities to the people. An official of Ministry of Railways talking to APP here on Wednesday said the previous government had closed down some of the sections mainly due to revenue problem and shortage of locomotives.
To a question regarding the faulty locomotives imported from China, the official brushed aside the notion saying that only a few had minor defects which were removed by the railway engineers.
Giving details of the locomotives, the official said, "It was for the first time in the history of the country that Pakistan Railways has installed fully computerized locomotives."
To another question, the official said that the Railways would ply special Eid trains to facilitate passengers like past on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr.
