Shipping activity at Port Qasim

imageKARACHI: Three ships C.V CMA Mozart, M.V Beacon-SW and M.T Al-Salam-II carrying containers, 24,000 tonnes wheat and 52,455 tonnes diesel oil were allotted berths at Qasim international Container Terminal, Grain & Fertilizer Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively at Port Qasim on Wednesday.

Meanwhile two more ships with containers and crude oil also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.

Berth occupancy was maintained at the Port Qasim at 28% on Wednesday where four ships namely C.V CMA CGM Mozart, MV Beacon-SW, M.T Better Sea Park and M.T AL-Salam-II are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, wheat, phosphoric acid and diesel oil respectively during last 24 hours.

A cargo volume 99,181 tonnes, comprises 76,856 tonnes imports and 22,325 tonnes exports inclusive containerized cargo carried in 2,280 containers (TEUs) (1,105 imports and 1,175 exports TEUs) were handled at the Port during last 24 hours.

Two ships CMA CGM Mozart and M.T Better Sea Park sailed out to sea on Thursday morning while another ship M.T Al-Salam-II is expected to sail on same day.

Containers ships 'Bux Contact' and 'Dubai Express' are expected to take berths at QICT on Thursday, while another container ship 'MSC Reunion' is due to arrive at Port Qasim on same day.
