MULTAN:-Divisional Superintendent (DS) Railways Mohammad Ali Rajpur Thursday said that two local trains Shah Shams and Musa Pak, stopped in the past regime, would be restored within a fortnight.
Rajpur told APP that Railways minister Khwaja Saad Rafiq's visit was expected next week and he would make the final decision in this regard.
Referring to a meeting in Lahore with the minister, he said initially Railways management has been entrusted with a three-pronged task across the country: punctuality for scheduled trains; removal of encroachment; enhancing earning through transparent means on top priority.
According to the official, Railways Multan division has recovered 218 acres encroached land estaimtedly worth Rs283 million.
In addition, Rs60 million outstanding amount, due with different departments, were also recovered in the past five months.
