KARACHI: Four ships carrying containers, cement, sand and steel, coil were berthed at Qasim International Containers Terminal and Multi Purpose Terminal on Sunday, port sources said here Monday.
According to the sources two more ships carrying containers also arrived at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
Berth occupancy was 65% at the Port on Monday where a total of seven ships namely Maersk Memphis, Port Menier, Asian Express, Princes Park, Bulk Pangaea, Arietis and Wan Zhou Xing are currently occupying berths to load/ offload containers, cement, sand, steel coil, chemical, coil, furnace oil and edible oil respectively during the last 24 hours.
A cargo volume of 86,159 tonnes comprising 84,647 tonnes imports and 1512 tonnes exports inclusive of containerised cargo carried in 233 containers (TEUs) was handled at the Port during last 24 hours.
