HYDERABAD: The executive committee of Sindh Chamber of Agriculture which met here on Friday discussed the issue of distribution of gunny bags and called on Commissioners and Deputy Commissioners to ensure their judicious distribution among the growers.
The meeting alleged corruption in the distribution of gunny bags by the officers of the Food Department and warned that the Chamber will withdraw its representatives from the committees of the Deputy Commissioners, if judicious distribution of gunny bags was not ensured.
The meeting also lodged a protest over non- availability of water to growers and the tail-ends of the irrigation system. It demanded of the authorities of Irrigation Department to take notice of the injustices with the growers.
