ISLAMABAD: Public Relations play vital role to help enhance prestige of any organization and its corporate image in the community it services.
This profession must be given due importance in all the fields in the private and public sectors, said President, Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI), Zafar Bakhtawari during a meeting with President of International Public Relations Association IPRA (Pak), Khalid Rashid Shahbaz at the Chamber House.
Zafar Bakhtawari said that IPRA (Pak) must come forward and train the persons attached to the business community by organizing special courses, lectures for which Islamabad Chamber could provide all assistance to promote the public relations activities.
He said that members of the IPRA (Pak) should also promote the positive role of business community in the development of the county, which has been distorted by certain segments of the society.
Earlier explaining the public relations subject, President of IPRA (Pak), Khalid Rashid Shahbaz said that it is a function, planned effort to influence opinion through accepted performance, based on two-way communication.
He said that it is generally believed that importance of the role of public relations as a necessary element of successful business management is yet to be realized in Pakistan.
He said that public relations as the activities of the industry, union, corporation, profession, government , semi- government or other private organizations in building productive relations with special publics.
Shahbaz assured ICCI President that IPRA (Pak) will certainly take the advantage of the services being provided to the public relations association to have its activities in the Chamber.
