KARACHI: Three ships C.V Maersk Utha, M.T Dong Calypso and M.T AL-Soor-II carrying containers, chemicals and diesel oil were allotted berths at Qasim International Container Terminal, Engro Vopak Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively at Port Qasim on Sunday, 17th March.
Berth occupancy was managed at the Port at 50% on Sunday where seven ships namely C.V Maersk Utha, M.T Sea Gull-D, M.T Bunga Melate Dua, M.T Mighty Ocean, M.T Dong Calypso, M.V Smart Jessica and M.T AL- Soor-II are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, steel coil, palm oil, chemicals, iron ore and diesel oil during last 24 hours.
A cargo volume of 78,500 tonnes comprises 69,000 tonnes imports and 9,500 tonnes exports inclusive containerized cargo carried in 1,200 containers ( 700 imports and 500 exports TEUs) were handled at the Port during last 24 hours.
Edible oil ship Bunga Melate Dua' and Chemicals carrier' Dong Calypso' sailed out to sea on Monday morning while another container ship Maersk Utha' is expected to sail same on day afternoon.
Two ships C.V Julie Delmas and M.T Argent Daisy carrying containers and palm oil are expected to take berths at QICT and LCT respectively on Monday, 18th March while another containers ship Allance Norfolk' is due to arrive at Port Qasim on same day.
