Shipping activity at Port Qasim

KARACHI: Three ships carrying containers, rice and furnace oil were berthed at Qasim International Containers Terminal, FAP Terminal and FOTCO Terminal on Wednesday, port sources said here Thursday.

Two more ships carrying containers and chemical also arrived at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.

Berth occupancy was 55% at the Port on Thursday where a total six ships namely Hammonia Pacificum, CGM Strauss, Mercy Wisdom, Denny-Z, Mercur and M T Karachi are currently occupying berths to load/ offload containers, wheat, rice, chemical and furnace oil respectively.

A cargo volume of 56,444 tonnes comprising 45,392 tonnes imports and 11,052 tonnes exports inclusive of containerised cargo carried in 1273 containers (TEUs) was handled at the Port during the last 24 hours.
