Shipping activity at Port Qasim

KARACHI: Two ships carrying containers and chemical were berthed at Qasim International Containers Terminal and Engro Vopak Terminal on Sunday, port sources said here Monday.

One more ship carrying iron ore also arrived at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.

Berth occupancy was 35% at the Port on Monday where a total of four ships namely Maersk Kentucky, Clipper Viking, Julain and Al Salam II are currently occupying berths to load/ offload containers, chemical, iron ore and diesel oil respectively.

A cargo volume of 64,357 tonnes comprising 57,406 tonnes imports and 6,951 tonnes exports inclusive of containerised cargo carried in 978 containers (TEUs) was handled at the Port during the last 24 hours.
