  • The investment comes after PM Imran Khan's meeting with US President Trump in July.
  • Tourism centres to be established in Gilgit-Baltistan, Skardu and other areas.

A delegation of US investors has announced during their recent visit to Pakistan that they will invest $100 million in the country's tourism sector.

The announcement was made on Thursday during a meeting between the delegation of US investors and Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan Ali Amin Gandapur. As per reports, the US delegation said that they decided to invest in Pakistan after Prime Minister Imran Khan and US President Trump's meeting that was held back in July.

Meanwhile, during the meeting with the US delegation, Gandapur, while briefing the delegation about possible investment opportunities in the country, said that they have decided to set up tourism centres in Gilgit-Baltistan, Skardu and other areas.

Gandapur also announced that the condition of getting non-objection certificate (NOC) for foreign tourists in Gilgit-Baltistan has also been terminated.

Just days ago, the Adviser to the Prime Minister on Finance and Revenue Dr. Abdul Hafeez Shaikh urged the US businesses to benefit from investment opportunities available in the country, as Pakistan's economy was on the right path to stabilization,.

He made this statement while attending a roundtable discussion with senior executives of the US-Pakistan Business Council (USPBC) at the US Chamber of Commerce.
