ISLAMABAD: The Higher Education Commission (HEC) Wednesday launched a Job Portal, enabling the PhD scholars to develop a liaison with the prospective employers for getting more job opportunities in their relevant fields.

The Job Portal was built on Rozee.pk, one of the country's largest job placement platform, carrying over 30,000 active jobs with addition of around 1,000 new jobs on daily basis, said a press release issued here.

The portal would provide PhD scholars an access to employment opportunities in academia, research institutions, and in the private sector that could leverage their unique skills which they have developed in pursuance of their PhD degree.

The online platform would also help the HEC in shaping its future policy in accordance with the data available on this site.

The portal was linked to the unemployed PhD data collected earlier this year. The PhD scholars who were already registered with the HEC, their job profile would automatically be updated on Rozee.pk.

These PhD scholars could start taking advantage of Rozee's sophisticated job matching algorithm and job alerting features.

PhD scholars that have not already registered with the HEC now could register themselves directly on the job portal.

The candidate’s profile feature on Rozee.pk was upgraded and enhanced to include specific areas that were relevant to academia / research job seekers (i.e. publications, teaching experience, grant experience, etc.)

PhD scholars were encouraged to complete the enhanced profiles on the job portal to improve overall job matching results and provide more information to the prospective employers.

Universities would also be connected to the jobs portal and were requested to post their academic jobs on it.
