Need stressed to evolve comprehensive national policy on export of surplus wheat

ISLAMABAD: Advisor to the Prime Minister for Commerce, Textile, Industries and Production and Investment Abdul Razak Dawood Monday stressed the importance of a comprehensive national policy on export of surplus wheat and its value-added products like flour, biscuits and other by-products from Pakistan to fetch more foreign exchange as Pakistan is one of 7th largest producer of the wheat.

He was chairing a meeting to explore options to promote export of wheat and its value added products here.

Federal Minster for National Food Security and Research Sahibzada Mehboob Sultan also participated in the meeting.

It was decided in the meeting that commerce division in consultation with Ministry of National Food Security and Research and provincial governments would devise a comprehensive long terms policy for wheat export.
