commodity2 400ISLAMABAD: Several stallholders in Sunday Bazaars of the capital sell unhygienic fruits and vegetables due to the negligence of concerned department.

People usually rush to the Sunday Bazaars due to less rates of commodities as compared to the other markets but some vendors were found busy in selling low quality fruits and vegetables deceiving the commuters.

The residents demanded of the administration to take strict action against the vendors who sell low quality fruits and vegetables in the Sunday Bazaars.

Sunday Bazaar where no senior official was available to control the bazaar, the visitors were at the mercy of the vendors and lower staff who had given a free hand to the vendors to fleece the consumers with low quality food items, customer Ali Usman said.

At various Sunday Bazaars, available authorities concerned and visitors opined that Sunday Bazaars required a continuous attention from senior officials and other departments; otherwise this hectic exercise was being exploited by a bunch of profiteers and substandard commodity sellers.

On the other hand, vendors at Sunday Bazaar were of the view that they are selling quality food items and customers are satisfy.

When contacted the Directorate of Capital Development Authority (CDA) spokesman said that the CDA has launched a special campaign for checking the quality of fruits and vegetables at all Sunday Bazaars.
