The health regulator, Anvisa, said the approval was based on studies by Pfizer that "indicated the vaccine's safety and effectiveness for this age group."
"We are against organizing the Copa America, but we will never say no to the Brazilian national team," the players said in a joint statement on social media.
Brasilia saw its largest rally since the start of the pandemic as people marched on Congress, where a senate commission is investigating Bolsonaro's handling of the health crisis.
Data on Monday showed annual headline inflation in Mexico stood at 5.80% in the year through the first half of May, well above the central bank's target of 3%, strengthening the case to end an easing cycle. The peso rose 0.4%.
"Bolsonaro made that promise of 'zero deforestation,' but how will we even know if the necessary information isn't available?" Paula Bernasconi, coordinator of the Centro da Vida Institute, told AFP.
Vaccine doses meanwhile continue to arrive in a trickle -- although the government maintains it will be able to vaccinate all adults by the end of the year.
"President Bolsonaro told me to seek a higher profitability, to increase efficiency," Ribeiro told reporters, adding his management would be technical.
"There is no political interference, the bank is only getting closer to the Economy Minister."
Speaking at a summit of world leaders, Bolsonaro's pledge would move up the previous target for reaching net zero emissions by 10 years.
He repeated a commitment made last week to end illegal deforestation by 2030, adding that it would reduce the country's greenhouse gas emissions by roughly 50% by that date.
A senior White House official said the administration "welcomed" Bolsonaro's commitment on deforestation and that Brazil "has a responsibility to lead" on climate issues.
