Adeel Qamar steps down as Engro Powergen Qadirpur CEO

Engro Powergen Qadirpur Limited (EPQL), a subsidiary of Engro Energy Limited, announced on Monday the resignation of its Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Adeel Qamar.

The development was shared in a notice to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) today.

Qamar will continue to perform his responsibilities as the CEO till completion of his notice period as per the company’s policy, after which the Board of Directors will appoint a new CEO in due course, added EPQL.

“The company wishes to extend its deepest gratitude and appreciation to Adeel Qamar for his contributions.”

Qamar holds a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology (GIKI).

He began his career at Engro Fertilizers in 2003 as a Graduate Trainee Engineer and also held several senior leadership positions at Engro Polymer & Chemicals Limited (EPCL).

EPQL is an independent power plant (IPP) that operates a 217 MW permeate gas-based plant in Qadirpur, Ghotki.

The plant is a combined-cycle plant, with a 1+1+1 configuration, including one gas turbine, one heat recovery system generator (HRSG), and one steam turbine.
