Kenya shilling dips on importer dollar demand, aid inflows may support

keNAIROBI: The Kenyan shilling inched down against the dollar on Friday due to importer demand for the U.S currency, but traders said they expected dollar inflows from aid organisations to offer some support to the currency.

 

At 0739 GMT, the shilling was posted at 85.20/35 per dollar, slightly down from Thursday's close of 85.05/25.

 

"We have seen a bit of (dollar) demand from energy guys," said Jeremiah Kendagor, head of trading at Kenya Commercial Bank.
