KARACHI: Brisk shipping activity has been observed at the Port Qasim during last 24 hours, where five ships carrying containers, rice, urea and diesel oil were allotted berth at Qasim International Containers Terminal, FAP, EVTL and FOTCO Terminals during last 24 hours. Meanwhile two more ships scheduled to load/offload containers and edible oil also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours.
Berth occupancy was 65% at the Port on Thursday where total number of seven ships namely Dubai Express, Nedlloyed Barentiz, San Francisco, Infinite Wisdom, MV, Ana Dorothea, Harsanadi and Al SalamII are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, rice, urea, chemical and diesel oil respectively during last 24 hours.
A cargo volume of 81258 tonnes comprising 61560 tonnes imports and 19698 tonnes exports inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 1450 containers (Boxes) were handled at the Port during last 24 hours.
