LONDON: Europe's main stock markets closed sharply higher on Thursday, with London's FTSE 100 index of leading shares up 1.75 percent at 5,696.11 points.
In Paris, the CAC 40 jumped 2.43 percent to 3,786.21 points and in Frankfurt the DAX gained 2.20 percent to 6,656.88 points.
