KARACHI: The Session Court in Lahore has acquitted US national Raymond Davis in a double murder case Aaj TV reported on Wednesday.
Davis, a CIA contractor, allegedly involved in the killing of two Pakistani men has been released today, sources said.
The families of the victims were forced to sign pardon papers, said their lawyer.
Meanwhile, according to sources, Raymond Davis has taken off for London in a special plane.
APP adds: A Pakistan court on Wednesday freed CIA contractor Raymond Davis, who was accused of murdering two men in Lahore on January 27.
"The family members of the slain men appeared in the court and independently verified they had pardoned him (Davis)," provincial law minister Rana Sanaullah told a private television channel.
"He has been released from jail. Now it is up to him. He can go wherever he wants," he added.
The January shooting sparked a diplomatic row with the United States, who persistently claimed Davis was an embassy employee and enjoyed diplomatic immunity, particularly after it emerged he was working for the CIA.
