Davis indicted in double murder case

LAHORE: US national Raymond Davis has been indicted in the double murder case of two Pakistanis, Aaj TV reported on Wednesday. Davis will be given the opportunity to present evidence, the court said.

The double murder case hearing against Davis is going on in Kot Lakhpat Jail, Lahore.

Davis, a CIA contractor, is allegedly involved in the killing of two Pakistani men in a busy Lahore street on January 27.

However, the US national claims he acted in self-defence.

Meanwhile, the US authorities have pressed for his release on grounds of diplomatic immunity, in a case that has fractured fragile diplomatic ties between Pakistan and the US.
