SEOUL: South Korea's central bank chief said on Wednesday annual consumer inflation had exceeded its internal projections in both January and February and blamed the faster-than-expected rises in oil prices.
Bank of Korea Governor Kim Choong-soo made the remark during a parliamentary committee session, a day before the central bank's monthly policy meeting at which most analysts surveyed by Reuters expect interest rates to be raised.
