LAHORE: The Punjab government on Saturday announced to continue laptops distribution scheme during fiscal year 2012-13.
According to a provincial budget document, the government during ended fiscal 2011-12 gave away some 110,000 laptops to students on merit throughout the province.
It said the continuation of laptops scheme would boost students morale, complement government policy of digitization, bring parity in terms of possession of IT equipment between students belonging to different segments of society and bridge digital divide between poor and rich students without compromising merit and excellence.
