Tennis great Roger Federer has become the highest-paid professional athlete in the Forbes list of top-earning sportsman the world for the year 2020.
The 20-time Grand Slam winner topped the list with estimated earnings of $106.30 million.
Meanwhile, Australia Open official website reported that this is the first time when a tennis player became the highest-paid sportsperson in the world.
He is being followed by three football players—Juventus and Portugal star striker Cristiano Ronaldo ($105 million earnings est.), FC Barcelona and Argentina’s star forward Lionel Messi ($104 million earnings est.), Paris Saint Germain (PSG) and Brazil star winger Neymar ($95.50 million earnings est.)
Footballers followed by trio of NBA stars – LeBron James ($88.20 million earnings est.), Stephen Curry ($74.40 million earnings est.) and Kevin Durant ($63.90 million earnings est.) – for the fifth, sixth and seventh position on the list.
Tiger Woods is the highest-paid golfer on the planet with estimated earnings of $62.30 million whereas Tyson Fury is the highest-paid boxer in the world with estimated earnings of $57 million.
