Twitter testing new feature to stop offensive tweets

The trend of abusive and objectionable comments and posts on social media is on the rise and various platforms are also active to curb it.

Numerous social media platforms are seen taking steps to curb online slander, hate messages, and objectionable content. In this regard, the micro-blogging site Twitter is now testing a feature that will ask users to think again before posting comments deemed objectionable.

The feature is called 'Rethink a Reply' and will run on an artificial intelligence-based algorithm.

This AI algorithm will ask users to review content before posting comments written on Twitter that contain an element of slander. As a result of this feature, people may change their comments before posting them, thus eliminating abusive and hateful content online.

As per details, Twitter's feature is currently in the testing stage and will be announced soon to all users.

It may be mentioned here, that this feature has been introduced on an image sharing platform, Instagram before in which when the captions of users' posts are objectionable, Instagram forces them to think through a notification whether this caption is objectionable or not.
