Man who self-immolated in front of PM Secretariat was wanted for child abuse

• The police shared that the man was an absconder in case of a rape attempt of a 9-year-old girl.

A man who self-immolated in front of PM Secretariat on Friday was wanted for child abuse, Pindi police said.

Earlier, a video surfaced on social media of the man who burnt himself in front of PM Secretariat. According to reports, the man burnt himself due to the ongoing situation in respect to coronavirus. Since the country's economy has been affected, reports claimed that the man did not have basic necessities like food to survive.

He also wrote a letter addressed to the PM, reports said. However, after investigation, the police shared that the man was an absconder in case of a rape attempt of a 9-year-old girl.
