After wreaking havoc in Sindh, Balochistan locusts attack KPK
- It has been months since the biblical plague has hit Pakistan and neighboring India, and despite several measures taken by farmers and the government, no breakthrough has been achieved so far.

After destroying cropland in Sindh, swarms of locust attacked thousands of acres of cultivated land in Orakzai district, in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The labor of farmers was wasted after locusts destroyed their cropland, the biblical plague has hit Pakistan and neighboring India, and despite several measures taken by farmers and the government, no breakthrough has been achieved so far.
The affected farmers of Orakzai district disaster have demanded the provincial government to declare the region disaster-hit area.
Swarms of locust are in Sindh and Balochistan since October and are moving northward. Minister for Food Security and Research Khusro Bakhtiyar said Pakistan was under severe locust attack after 27 years which posses a substantial threat to food security in the country.
Pakistan has sought help from neighboring ally China to combat this menace, just days ago the Chinese ambassador assured to consider the supply of pesticides and spraying equipment to Pakistan as an emergency project, alongside sending a delegation of technical experts to Pakistan to further deliberate on aerial management of locust.
