Japanese CG vows to strengthen bilateral trade ties

Consul General of Japan, Toshikazu Isomura has said that the both countries' traders should frequently interact with each other and find new ways of diversify trade beside traditional sectors.

Consul General of Japan, Toshikazu Isomura has said that the both countries' traders should frequently interact with each other and find new ways of diversify trade beside traditional sectors.

Speaking at a meeting of Pakistan Chemicals and Dyer Merchant Association (PCDMA), he emphasized the need of making efforts to strengthening bilateral trade relations between Japan and Pakistan. He assured PCDMA members of the issuance of visas on a priority basis, adding that commercial importers will also be considered for multiple visas, but cannot be given assurance.

Japanese envoy said that there are 5,000 Japanese companies operating in Thailand and 20,000 Japanese companies in China. In contrast, only 85 companies are working in Pakistan which needs to be increased by attractive policies. He also emphasized the need for frequent business-to-business meetings, exchanging trade delegations between Japan and Pakistan.

Chairman PCDMA, Amin Yousuf Balgamwala said that in the past, imports of chemicals and dyes from Japan were higher for Pakistan, which is now being reduced.
