The Secretary Livestock& Dairy Development Department Punjab Nadeem Irshad Kayani has urged to strengthen Livestock Department farms as a demonstration farms where researchers and post graduate students can get maximum knowledge and skills.
He said this during his visit of the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) Lahore`s Ravi Campus Pattoki on Wednesday. Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Masood Rabbani, UVAS senior faculty members and officials from Livestock Department were present.
He suggested to made strong liaison with private sector for students internship regarding to their fields in poultry, dairy and livestock. He said veterinarian must know about the analytical skills and report writing skills. He also sought suggestions and identifying opportunities in China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CEPC) for livestock sector.
Secretary Livestock took interest in internship programme of student for their professional capacity building. Secretary Livestock appreciated UVAS state-of-the-art facilities, quality of education & research.
Earlier Prof Dr Masood Rabbani gave presentation about the work plan and methodology of project including livestock information management center, disease control for OIE compliance, livestock product development center, livestock entrepreneur and human resource development.
He said in future Ravi Campus Pattoki to be promoted as technology based agro-livestock tourism place where professionals will know the clear misconception about poultry feed and meat, wildlife and pet breeding facilities.
He also mentioned Ravi campus state of the art facilities like Central Laboratories Complex (CLC), Ostrich Farms, Zoological Museum, wildlife cages & Fish Hatchery, civic engagement, Vaccine production unit, Milk plant, Clinics (clinical Centrum) and Foreign Faculty Hostels etc.
Later Secretary Livestock visited along with UVAS Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Masood Rabbani in various section of Prof Dr Muhammad Akram Educational Complex including its auditorium hall and library. During visit he talked to students in Library and planted a sapling in front of Akram Complex.
