KARACHI: Sharmila Faruqui, Secretary Information of Pakistan Peoples Party Sindh Women Wing, has expressed her deep sorrow over the murder of Federal Minister for Minorities Affairs, Shahbaz Bhatti, and strongly condemned it.
In a statement here on Thursday, she maintained that Shahbaz Bhatti was a symbol of bravery and boldness in Pakistan Peoples Party for the rights of minorities and his assassination is the `murder of enlightenment'.
She said `We will defeat the enemies of Pakistan and we believe that the murder of Shahbaz Bhatti is the murder of a philanthropist and his killers will be brought to task'.
Sharmila said that it was responsibility of all democratic forces to come forward and promote peace and brotherhood in the society and build soft image of Pakistan.
She further said that certain elements did not like peace in Pakistan and have ulterior motives, but all patriotic forces under the leadership of President Asif Ali Zardari were united and working for the development for the country and Inshallah we would very soon achieve our this lofty target.
